Nestled in the charming town of Westport, Jack and Maya’s home boasted many features that made it special. However, their ground-level family room and a small office were far from what they envisioned – especially with the recurring issue of water ingress during rainy weather. This prompted them to seek a lasting solution, leading to their collaboration with Connecticut Basement Systems for waterproofing, and our team at Alchemy 9 Design for the subsequent renovation.

In line with the clients’ desires for a space that reflects their personality and delights visitors, we opted for playful art pieces and thoughtful accents that resonated with their sensibilities. By repurposing two retail bookcases they already owned, we maintained cost-efficiency without sacrificing the room’s charm and functionality.
To pull the room together and enhance its welcoming ambiance, we installed a high-quality yet reasonably priced carpet. This choice not only complemented the room’s design but also provided a soft, warm underfoot for a more comfortable experience.
